Just a few thoughts - I was a missionary to a Catholic country for 12 1/2 years. The things I've seen are despicable. They changed the ten commandments.. They intentionally twist scripture, and put this manipulated teaching in the catechism, knowing that they couldn't really change the Bible, but most Catholics don't read it anyway.
The pedophilia and millions paid in hush money is an abomination. I could go on and on. Martin Luther's twisted writings were actually used by Hitler in the Holocaust because of his deep hatred for Jews.
Here's a few points to ponder - just to think about, that no one else has touched upon that I have seen.
The Roman numerals you mention I V X L C D 1,5 10,50 100 were in existence long before Christ or the apostles or the Church - so I see no connection there at all.
Here's the thing - There is a long and well-documented history of anti-Semitism by the Catholic church that spans more than 1000 years.
The Catholics blamed Jews for Christ's death. Beyond ludicrous, yeah, I know.
There are all kinds of articles and documentation - even on this site, of the Catholic church colluding with/ conspiring with Muslim leaders. And you can be sure of this- the Jews are well aware of this centuries long hatred.
**** We have to keep in mind the insight that one of the gals said on the first page, @cwood - Spirit of Anti-Christ, and collective entities (religions, governing bodies) and a person. It can be all three, much in the same way that some prophecies can have dual fulfillment.
Another way to explain this is "Little a" anti-Christ which is attitudes or actions of setting oneself up equal to or higher than God. Claiming the pope speaks for God. That Mary was sinless Hatred of Jews, etc, etc. as compared with "Big A" Antichrist - a person.
Here's the other point that I think is worth chewing on. I think there will be a literal person, but I don't think there is a shred of evidence from scripture that he would rule the whole world. Remember, end-times prophecy centers on Israel and Jerusalem. The Tribulation is the Time of Jacob's trouble- For Jews, and those who rejected Christ.
The Jews are even now- as we speak, still looking for a real, literal, physical Messiah. Not a symbolic one, in a symbolic temple, with symbolic sacrifices.
While I firmly believe that there are anti-Christ actions, and spirits of anti-Christ, and anti-Christ collective entities, and religions - Islam, etc. these cannot be the Messiah. Jews aren't looking for a corporation to be Messiah. Doesn't work. Jews are not looking for a governing body like UN or EU to be their Messiah. Falls flat at so many levels.
The prophecies are real - the red heifer is real, the priests are real, and ready, instruments are real and the plans for the physical building is very real. It is for this very reason that the Jews will accept this Big A Anti-Christ as the long -awaited Messiah.
The prophecies state explicitly that the Messiah has to be Jewish and from the line of Judah. I've heard all kinds of suggestions of Barak Obama and Emannual Macron, and George Soros, and so on. But Jews will not accept someone as their Messiah who has a 1000 year history of anti-Semitism, and who banned circumcision.
I also personally believe 110% that some of these things Christ has chosen to keep a mystery, until the appointed time. No amount of numerology of combination of Latin letters or clues or astronomical alignments will give the answer to something that God wants to be sealed.
I am fully convinced we will be gone by that time, and I'm very interested in people's ideas of Who he might be and especially Why

As much as I dislike the Pope and see the evils of the Catholic church, and intentional deception - I see 0% chance of the Pope or any Catholic leader being the Anti-Christ, any more than I think Jews would elect a former NAZI as Prime Minister. Jared Kushner, on the other hand , hmmm.
