Please have fun with this, because it is a bit of truth, and a bit tongue in cheek. I'm bored. Not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but I thought I'd post it. Why? Well...I've had this same crazy thought for days...what if He comes during the Super Bowl? Crazy, I know, right? Look folks, over the past 6 months I have seen the craziest rapture theories offered up. Insane crazy dates, number counts, charts of blood moons and solar eclipses...you name it, I've seen it all, and I've taken it with a grain of salt. However, I do not dismiss the clear signs of the times we are in. Most of my family and friends are sure that I've lost my mind, because I keep telling them that "Jesus is coming!", so what does it hurt for me to show all of you (strangers) this thing? So I googled "Rapture during Super Bowl". Why? Because: Matthew 24:44 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected. Luke 12:40 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” "...when least expected." And this parable outlines how most will be caught up in the cares of this life, practicing evil and caring nothing for the things of God. Now, we saw Dennis Watson offer up New Years Eve as a rapture date. Dennis was roundly criticized here and pretty much run out on a rail. He was wrong about the date. He was also wrong about his subsequent date. Fine. But, I am one who doesn't think Jesus is coming on a feast day. He isn't coming on Passover. You'd expect him to...and that's precisely why it won't be that day or any other obvious day. Dennis had this part right. I think He's coming on a "worldly day". Yep, I think that it happens on a day when NO ONE expects him to come...and furthermore, I think it's a day that the world glorifies. A party day. A let's get drunk and stuff ourselves with food and give glory to our idols (NFL players/teams, entertainers) kind of day. A day like today. Back to my Google search...I came up with this You Tube video from a watcher..."flatearthrandy". He's already suspect just for his handle (the earth IS NOT flat, dude). But he is thinking like I am thinking. Jesus is coming when the world's immediate focus is far removed from the things of God. Even most Christians today will participate heavily in this event. I too will watch the Super Bowl...no party or drunkenness though . During the commercials, I'll be looking out the window at the sky. Because he will come when we least expect it, not on a feast day or a church day, or a holy day. I'm not at all sure when He will come for us...doubtful it's today...but I think it will be on a day just like today. Watch the video. All IMHO.

fitz You said to have fun with this! lol! That video is so strange, isn’t it? Funny too! But I really can see how something could happen around the Super Bowl, Olympics, etc. I feel like the feast days relate to the Jews as well. I have struggled with feeling somewhat discouraged but at the same time I have loved seeing so many things come together to point the way. I know that just like Abraham, we, as patient waiters, will be rewarded!

I also think the feast days, at least the major ones, are for the Jews and Jesus’ physical presence on earth. Not that He doesn’t have something amazing in store for us, but it’s hard to hold to dispensationalism and then claim the Jews’ feast days as our own. What is fun for me about all these dates is that they keep me encouraged and watching. That He truly could come at any time. Of course we should believe that anyway, but at the same time He knows we will look at each of these dates and I feel like He gives us the next piece of the puzzle through them. Looking at Exodus and Pentecost because of Dennis’ theory has been huge in shaping my understanding of Him. And I do think there is something about the numbers 120 and 153 from 1/21 even though it doesn’t make sense yet. So we keep looking and see what He might be saying each time a date comes and goes. And I think the Super Bowl is as good a day as any!

Don't be discouraged KLB! I get that way sometimes too. I am in the middle of the hardest life trial I have ever experienced and it's so hard to hold on to hope, joy and peace. But I know, that I know, that I know that Jesus is coming. I wish I could say more, but then we move into the realm of personal revelation. Many years ago a wise old Christian woman told me that it's best to keep personal revelation from God personal until he reveals it to all. I have never forgotten that admonition. So I can't say more. And I don't need to. God is speaking these things to many of us now.
He IS coming! And today it is closer than it was yesterday! Dates we look to that pass by just bring us nearer the actual day.

Hey you never know when Yeshua will come...I am so anxious for him that I look for him everyday.
Also...you said: "The earth isn't flat". It really saddens me when I hear Christians say this. It means that they have never asked Yeshua for the TRUTH. Are we so gullible that we think that the goverments/scientists on this earth wouldn't lie to us? The governments are controlled by satan. The government/scientist have the whole world thinking we evolved from "Monkeys". If that is not brainwashing I don't know what is. I want you to just think about a couple things that REALLY got me looking into the flat earth thing. 1. Water is always level...it NEVER curves. 2. If outer space is a vacuum, what is keeping our air from being sucked out into outer space? (hint The bible says its a dome covering). 3. God said the earth was made in the beginning...but the sun wasn't made till day 4-so what was the earth circling until the sun came? 4. Joshua said "Sun stand still". 5. When planes are flying, or helicopters hovering...shouldn't the earth be spinning underneath? I encourage everyone to first of all PRAY about this...then look into it. Go listen to some of Rob Skiba's videos he goes from a biblical point of view. This is IMPORTANT. This deception IS part of the strong delusion. AND if it is a delusion, it means it is difficult to see without the Lord opening our eyes. Shalom.

Welcome theer - I have only recently heard of the flat earth theory so don't know anything about it. 1 John 5:19 says that "we know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one" so I do believe that we have been deceived by a great many things. I have full faith that God will show us the truth when the time is right. It seems that a lot of truth has been coming out as of late.

Hi Theer, I don't want this thread to spiral into something else (which the moderators frown on), but I think you deserve an answer. I've read the arguments and looked at the evidence and I am not convinced by the flat earth argument. Neither that the bible teaches this nor that I can't trust my eyes (or my government). If true, it would make every other conspiracy theory pale by comparison. I've been studying God's word for 40 years, and I just do not see it. I suppose I could be wrong, and if so, when I get to heaven, I'm pretty sure the Lord is going to upgrade my understanding of many things, this included. My "go to" place for all things such as this is GotQuestions.org, and I think the explanation given there is quite good from a scriptural standpoint, without being dogmatic. www.gotquestions.org/flat-earth-Bible.html But I have no dog in this fight and this would rank near the bottom of my list of important Christian doctrine.

I love to have fun and I love to challenge rigid traditions - think outside the box. ;-) woo hoo. This is coming from an Otter remember. I also love the southern expression of not having a dog in the fight. I literally could not care less about the superbowl. Super super disgusted with the spoiled millionaire punks protesting inequality - but I digress.
I agree - Super Bowl is as good a day as any other for us as Christians. But I also think that the passage about coming when people don't expect - refers to non-Christians - and many Christians. The non-Christians are not even expecting Christ to return at all - they think it's all rubbish.
For millions of Christians, they are asleep, or really apathetic - have resigned to the notion that it's just too confusing/ too controversial, and tens of millions more, have glibly quote the passage "no one knows the day or the hour" - which didn't even refer to the rapture.
Paul was explicitly clear that we are not Children of the night - but are children of the day and for those watching - who are expectantly looking at the skies - he said that day will NOT SURPRISE us like a thief. - referring to the well-known and documented phrase "Thief in the night" which is documented from multiple commentaries and even the Talmud - a well-known Hebrew idiom that referred to the High Priest who came through the temple at night, and when he caught a priest sleeping - would take some coals from the alter and light his robes on fire. The sleeping priest would tear off his clothes and run naked in the temple court. Note this striking parallel to Rev 3 about the sleeping/ lukewarm churches. hmmmmm
**Also, just a side note - Dennis was roundly and rightfully criticized for several reasons - nothing to do with his theory, - but the biggest was his rudeness and contempt for those who didn't agree, and his eisegesis/speculation with total disregard for sound Hermeneutics. ;-) I still believe that there is compelling evidence from scripture that points to a Feast day - not Pentecost and not Passover, - but I'm genuinely open to other possibilities and I think this year is very significant because of the 70th anniversary of Israel becoming a nation, together with other prophecies fulfilled and the Revelation 12 sign and the alliance of Russia, Iran and Turkey. All the players are in place. ;-)
Maranatha - Super bowl would be great.
Since we're having fun - I liked the FB meme that says - Bible mentions Eagles 34 times (thirty something) Patriots 0. So there you have it. If we're just looking at the Bible. Heheheheh. Please , Pass the bacon wrapped pigs in blankets and the spinach dip.

One could make the argument of a 'flat earth' if one clearly qualifies their position by stating that the perspective has to be from a 4+ dimensional point of view. I have yet to hear this done (and proven) using 4+ dimensional math.
Within a 3D universe, as well as within the scope of the 3D laws of physics, flat earth theory fails mathematically. Since we are 3D beings, and cannot 'dimensionally perceive' 4+ dimensions (though we can mathematically model them) we cannot prove flat earth theory using 3D math and physics. One might take a stab at it by using parametric equations to create projections of the 4th dimension, one of which will be a 3D 'flat' earth.
Similarly, Newtonian physics fails at the quantum level.
For anyone who is interested in finding out more, you can search "tessaract", "hypercube" and "math class" using the search engine here.
Of particular note, will be the explanation in the Math Class thread about Mr. and Mrs. Flat; as well as the 'point', 'line' and 'square' comments that occasionally pop up in threads.
