Being born

Do any of you get the feeling you’re being born? Let’s think about birth. Traveling through that birth canal. You begin to hear something, although you don’t really know what hearing is. There were sounds before, but now they are less muddled. You see things. There is light in this new place. Strange. And what is that? A feeling of some sort. But you don’t know what feeling is. Just a new, strange sensation. You see some things. Some are not nearly as pleasant as the place you once were, but then again, you now see your mother’s face and it’s beautiful.

And then what? Well, if you have a loving mother, you are caught up to her breast for nourishment. You have just been born. You are new. You need some time to grow in this new thing you are beginning to see and hear and feel. You need someone to care for you while you sort it out and someone to explain what you’re experiencing. Isn’t teaching new children about this world one of life’s greatest joys? Babies should not be put out an a doorstep or into an adoption box hoping some nice person will come along and care for them. They should be cared for and taught by the one who created them. They should, perhaps, be whisked up to God and to His throne the moment they are born so He can nourish them until they grow big and strong and ready to work.
