I had a rather unpleasant situation yesterday and felt I handled it the best I could but would rather it not happen again. My spouse is very liberal about some things and does not believe in the reality of witchcraft, summoning evil spirits, and the power of satanism.
He was watching videos with my five year old son yesterday on his phone and one came up for Americas Got Talent or something very similar. The person of Talent claimed to be able to levitate tables and other objects and talk to the dead to learn about people. She started chanting faster and faster that's when I turned around and asked what is she saying? I was changing my 2 year old and had my back turned from them. He turned up the volume so I could hear and when I heard what she was saying every hair on my neck and back stood up. My muscles went completely stiff in my back. She was doing a summoning. She was calling to a specific name to the powers of darkness and so on. I explained she is trying to summon demons and please turn that off, don't let him (our son) watch that.
Of course he rolled his eyes and said it's not real, it's just for show. I asked him to please just turn it off, he does not need to watch that. That's when the table in the video lifted off the ground. Of course my son says no way!! How did she do that?!? It ended in an argument between him and I. I asked him to please respect my request about this kind of stuff. I am not real strict about a lot of things, but this I will put my foot down about.
This was not fake, it was very real. Does anyone deal with situations like this? How do you explain that there certainly are people who do this sort of thing for real?

We had a similar experience here about a week ago, but my husband is the opposite of yours and knows it's demonic. My kids had been watching America's Got Talent on YouTube and found Asia's Got Talent or something like that. I was in the kitchen, but my husband was with them and made them turn it off. The lady was using a Ouija board I think and doing some other stuff. We then had a discussion about it. It came up again later in the week when we were covering the story in Samuel where Saul summons the ghost of Samuel. That made it easier to show why we don't do stuff like that because I had Scripture to support it.
Some people will understand when it is explained and some won't. Some think that it's all just good fun or it's not real. I don't know how to explain it to those type of people.

I’m praying for you and your husband and your child! That’s a very serious topic and has unfortunately been taught as unreal and not a big deal. The church needs to wake up!
I stand with ya girl! Thank God my wife and I are on the same page with this issue. God bless you!
