Hello,
I’ve been lurking for quite a while but have only recently signed up to this website.
Like many of you I’ve been watching on a number of dates (like 9/23, DoA, FoT, 11/13, 11/19) in 2017 and I have learned a great deal from many of your threads on this board.
I only wanted to post this thread as I had a question come up while I was reading Habakkuk today.
When I was reading Habakkuk 2:2 it looked to me like the verse was talking about the end time, which I believe we are in. As I continued reading, 2:5-8 I thought the verse applied well to the circumstance that the US is in now.
2:18-19 also reminded me of the “creating an AI god” thread in this forum.
I am not a bible scholar like some of you are and I need your help in understanding the context and message of the book. I stumbled on readjng the book after I was let down by an article on the raptureready site about how UN “peacekeepers” were creating child sex/traffiking ring.
I was amazed at how Habakkuk started with a prayer calling for justice because that was exactly how I felt when I was reading the article.
Please share your insights. Although I have not spoken at all before I do feel very much at home at the site as I visit the website. Thank you for lettingn me learn and grow so much from all if your inputs.

Hi Caleb, I came across this site a few weeks ago after a well learned bible scholar would not respond to my e-mails. He was high school classmate and I thought we had a common interest in scripture. Nevertheless, I was alone and nowhere to go. No organized church would have me unless I settled to their terms and that is not asking for to much; however, I am looking for much more. I want to know when the tribulation is going to begin, how it works and much more that is not covered in a traditional church. So I think you have come to the right place. Habakkuk is not one of the books that I study however. So I can not help you there.

Hi caleb, Welcome here. We all are learning from each other and studying the scripture. I encourage you, to delve deep into the bible and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Regarding your study of Habakkuk, I remembered my favourite scholar Chuck Missler, who had something to say on this book. Maybe this article is helpful: www.khouse.org/articles/2011/979/

Hi caleb , Welcome here. We all are learning from each other and studying the scripture. I encourage you, to delve deep into the bible and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Regarding your study of Habakkuk, I remembered my favourite scholar Chuck Missler, who had something to say on this book. Maybe this article is helpful: www.khouse.org/articles/2011/979/Thanks for the link Stephan! Chuck Missler is also one of my favourite teachers.
The article helped me a lot in gaining insights to the historical context of Habakkuk and it is also very comforting to be reminded of the Grace we have as "The just shall live by Faith."
Another area I hoped to have more clarification on, however, was whether the text would provide for parallelism/dual prophecy pertaining to eschatological events as I found Habakkuk 2:2-3 seem to indicate that. As Chuck Missler also identifies in his article, an apparent parallelism in predicament (maybe not just in America, but many other places in the world today as well) seems evident in the text: 2:5 materialism/consumer greed? 2:7 many nations (including some of the wealthiest like U.S. and Japan) have high levels of government debt today 2:9 widening gap of income inequality? If the book provides for the parallelism, would it also provide for the description of some end-time events that we are (or will soon be) witnessing, and how would it connect to other eschatological texts in Revelation 12 and Ezekiel 38?
I would love to hear your thoughts and insights! And thank you all for your replies
