No I'm a nice scoffer
I'm happily married to a man that firmly believes that the Revelations 12 sign means the tribulation will start before next September ends (he doesn't have a particular opinion about when the rapture will happen exactly but I sense he is pre trib or at least pre wrath) I however think you're all going to live long and regular lives and will be trying to figure out what "went wrong" next year at this time. That said I have been enjoying following everyone's theories and such, I just don't subscribe to them. Feel free to shout "I told you so" at me and the rest of the heathens should I in fact be the mistaken one.I think there is a lot of misconception about most of "us" (those who believe in the Revelation 12 Sign).
***eerie sounds of cuckoo clock in background as we all look up at the sky this morning calculating the positions of the constellations and consulting our satanic astrology books so that we can determine exactly and down to the second when Jesus will arrive... and wait... is that the theme from the Twilight Zone... Sssscccrrreeeaaammmmmm***
Seriously though, I think above is how some people actually think about "Revelation 12" proponents. I can't speak for everyone and I'm sure there are some fringe people out there who actually do consult astrology books concerning this and not in my job description to judge them but just saying... I have come across some pretty weird beliefs about this sign/this date of September 23 (which Jerusalem is 7 hours ahead of us in the USA in the East Coast time zone and they will reach 9-23-17 7 hours sooner than the east coast of the US). For *most* people though, I think you will find that this Revelation 12 Sign is but one factor of many happening in the world right now that tell us right now is a time to be on high watch and be looking up.
I'd actually consider most of us "watchmen on the wall" as discussed in Ezekiel in the Bible. And even us "watchmen" have varying beliefs and we don't all agree with each other on everything (though we do try and respect each other and each other's varying beliefs on the details, meaning that which does not relate to Salvation). Because Salvation, is what is important! If one has that, one is going up, up, up whether they are watching or not and whenever the time comes.
What has really gotten me is what I call this present "convergence" of so many events and one of those is the Revelation 12 Sign... it has sparked within me this renewed passion and zeal for Jesus and for His Word. Actually, I don't think there has ever been a time in my life to where I have been just so IN LOVE with Jesus, with His Word! Give me an option of a list of fun things to do and I'm likely to just stay home and read my Bible! Because I consider that the most fun option.
It hasn't always been like that for me though.So... maybe today. Yep! But I won't say 100% that I think we *must* go Home today, or that Jesus *must* pick us up today and only today and that He HAS to (after all, who am I to order Him around)
I do think though, that we are there, in the general time frame, of when Jesus will come back... that it is going to happen in our lifetimes; the lifetime of this current generation alive and on earth right now. For me, I trust HIM! And I definitely believe He does give us signs (not only the Jewish people but EVERYONE and even those who are unbelievers). It's just that most in the "church" (Christians) have decided there is no such thing as "signs" and if one believes in signs that person is automatically ascribing things such as Revelation 12: 1-2 in the sky right now, ascribing that to satan instead of to GOD and calling us who believe that this sign is NOT astrology and NOT from Satan and YES it IS a Sign from God... just that we are judged by a VERY large number of Christians, we are called names, we are scoffed at which means to me... ridiculed, made fun of, ostracized, called "fake" Christians, we don't have true Salvation, etc...I say to them... I'm not going to judge y'alls hearts like you all are judging mine (ours who believe this sign). But I will say that I think all of you standing proud, pretending like you know it all, and like we are a bunch of heathen and worse than unbelievers... just that I pray for you to wake up because we ARE living in the days of Jesus Return and He is Coming Soon! And also to say to them... God DOES send Signs, dreams and visions, and just all spiritual gifts of which are many which He gives to many through The Holy Spirit. And these prideful and better than everyone else Christians are missing out on SO MUCH because they could be getting rained on with Blessings from God like all of us here are right now. But they are not because The Holy Spirit isn't going to "force" anything on any of them. (Also, just to say, blessings does not = material things or money but blessings from The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit).
There are posts I've read here and many other places where I do think people are putting too much faith in "the sign" and that it means we are going Home "right then" instead of putting that faith in "Jesus Only". It is not for me to call them out on that though or tell them they are wrong or any other thing. God will convict their hearts if they are in error in any way, shape, or form and not my job, lol! I'm excited to see them excited and I'm excited too because of "the sign" and everything I see happening all around me. Not that I like watching the world fall to pieces... but I do know all of this means He is Coming!
As to the Revelation 12 Sign itself, I believe that this 100% IS it (not too proud though to say that there is the possibility that I am wrong and anyone who is too proud I think needs to take a minute and have a conversation with Jesus to make sure their heart is right with Him and they've got their priority's straight and putting Him First instead of making mistakes like Jewish people did and do by believing only signs). I understand how it could happen and unless one is always vigilant for sure they will fall into Satan's traps as they go through life. I believe though... that yes this sign fulfills Revelation 12:1-2. That means we could be going Home and really soon and could be even today!!! Or it could mean something else. Either way, I love Jesus and will be "looking up" until I don't have to anymore because I actually WILL BE "up"!
I'm going to work today like normal, sending my kids to school like normal. Because I trust HIM and that no matter what happens, no matter where, no matter when... He has got this!!! That doesn't make it wrong though, for those who have taken off work. We should all do as we feel led by Jesus! Because HE is what matters!
(When I say "you", because I tend to do this a lot in addition to typing A LOT, just that I don't mean YOU personally. I'm talking about the scoffers, the people it applies to. And like cwood said, I don't think you are a scoffer! And so... welcome, welcome, welcome! The original reason I had clicked on this thread, because yesterday morning this forum was giving me all kinds of issues. It would just get stuck on enter, or would direct me to this page with a bunch of black dots saying verifying my identity or my computer's identity or something like that, and just all kinds of craziness that doesn't usually happen when I sign on here. So I think something was going on yesterday, though I don't know if was hack or what it was.
God Bless Everyone! And have a great day! I really do want to stay here, in my house, with my Bible, and with you all today all day! But... that is pretty much what I want to do everyday. So... off to work I guess. And what will be will be! No disappointment on my end if we don't go Home today. All it means, is that it is not quite time yet. And I know for certain that when it is time, God will send Jesus to come pick us up! And for Jesus, He's probably sitting next to God right now... like our own children do to us when we are in the car and on the way to a vacation destination...

How many more minutes?" *5 seconds* "Daaaaddddduuuhhhh... are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet? Is it time yet, is it time yet, is it time yet?"
And God: "Look Son!!! I'm both Patient and Merciful! But You are starting to get on my nerves!!! I'll tell You when it's time!"
