Thanks for the videos, watchmanjim! Yes, those look exactly like what I've been seeing, and I suspect it is the 47s. I'll ask my husband tomorrow to see if he agrees with my suspicion.

BTW, my uncle used to live in Forest Grove, Oregon, not so far from where you live. He was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam in the Air Force, flying search and rescue missions. After the war, he remained in the AFR (I believe it was that branch) and continued to fly UH-1 Huey helicopters at least through 1991 before retiring. He flew rescue missions for the 1980 Mt. St. Helens eruption, no doubt saving several lives. He lives in Maine now.

The only reason I felt it wasn't normal was the fact that they haven't flown that low in many years. It could have been training, but that in itself speaks to increased readiness as they weren't flying that low in my direction anymore for many, many years.
I kinda wish I had had my camera ready- they were so close to the ground, I could have got some great pictures if I was ready.
I phoned my mother-in-law (she moved to town) after they passed to see if she heard them. She didn't hear a thing, 10 miles south, so they like to bypass the towns so that they only scare mainly cows and the odd person who happens to be at home.
But like I said, they have upped their training regime to be doing the flight over my house.
