Jeff, I'm connecting with you on any country oppressing the Jewish people being seen as 'Egypt'...
OH, shoot! Forgot to add that the 2017 and 2024 eclipses in American BOTH intersect at a place in Illinois (?) called "Little Egypt"! Mercy!

Wow, you guys are really connecting the dots.
What I seem to see is that Egypt is code for the world system that is holding God's people captive. "Out of Egypt I called my Son". The Church is the Body of Christ and the male child (Gal. 3:29). Out of the world God will call His Son/sons/male child/Church. The second Exodus.
At the same time, roughly half of the world's Jews are in the United States. Once the rapture happens the Jews here will come under immense persecution. All the Egypt connections will play a role in their own second Exodus. This time from the United States to Israel.

That's how I see it, too.

Amen. Nice summation, Gary. The Tribulation events describe a sort of Second Exodus led by the Greater Moses (Jesus). Historically, Israel was notorious for seeking refuge and making alliances with nations stronger and more powerful. The United States appears to be the epitome of this type of refuge-seeking, but once her time is up, it's time to go, "Come out of her, my people" (Rev. 18:4)!

do you think the second eclipse in 2024 has anything to do with revelation 16:10? I am certainly wondering about that, delo63...

The only issue I would have with Israel fleeing to the US as the wilderness is Isaiah 63 (paired with Micah 2:12 and Is 34:6 ) which says that He returns to the area of Bozrah, Edom and gathers the Jews. Great point, Natalie! I am wondering, is it possible that the woman Israel in the Revelation 12 sign flees to one place, while the 144,000 seek refuge at another place? Revelation 12:17 speaks of the Dragon's rage after the woman's escape: "Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus." Could the rest of her offspring be the 144,000?

I always just considered that the rest of her offspring were Christians, but I suppose it could include the 144,000. I haven't really studied them much. Sounds like a good thing to do tonight after the kids are in bed.

From what I can tell from rereading parts of Rev ... The 144,000 are sealed before the 4 angels are allowed to harm the earth or sea or trees. In 9:4 they are protected from the "locusts". So, I'm assuming they are also protected somehow from the anti-Christ, but it's just an assumption as I cannot find that the text says that. At some point during the 70th week, John sees them on Mount Zion with the Lamb. After their ministry is done? Reading a bit further in chapter 14 it seems that they are singing their new song before the creatures and elders, so they too must get raptured at some point? There is not a whole lot of information on these 144,000.

Regarding Isa 63, specifically vs 1-6. These verses parallel Rev 14:18-20 and 19:13-21, which is the battle that occurs at the Second Coming. Note that these passages indicate it is Christ (!!!) who tramples the grapes in the winepress of God's wrath...

Right. He has fought the people that have gathered, and His robe is stained with the blood. But He's coming from Bozrah 63:1 the "sheep pen" where the Jews are gathered together and He leads them out (Micah 2:12). That's why I said I don't think they will be sheltered in the wilderness of the US because He has a place for them in the Middle East.

Just found some fascinating information as I was looking into the subject of Mayak! Today's launch will be 60 years since the 1st manmade satellite was launched in 1957. It was the Soviet Union's Sputnik, launched on 04 October 1957. That evening was the start of Yom Kippur, in a year ending in 7.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, my head is swimming with all of these amazing things...

I need to make sure I have Sputnik in my "On the 7's" thread. I may have already included it.
Yes, the Bible has a TON to say about Egypt, from Genesis to Revelation. We have barely scratched it. Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel have a lot to say about Egypt--some of it clearly contemporary to Old Testament times, but some of even that, could be typology or multiple-application prophecy.
Let's not forget Isaiah 19 and the drying up of the Nile, which is ongoing even as we speak.

Aren't there frequent references to 'wilderness' in the scriptures, almost all of which refer to areas south and east of Jerusalem?

Note that these passages indicate it is Christ (!!!) who tramples the grapes in the winepress of God's wrath... I hesitated to add this next part, but it probably should be pointed out (even if its obvious): 1. John is looking out from Heaven being open and watching the battle Rev 19:11 2. The grapes are the people from the earth's vine that he slaughters with the sword of his mouth. (Rev 14:18, 19:19) This vine is probably the same one that didnt produce fruit in Jesus' parable 3. The winepress is the battlefield outside the city (presumably Jerusalem? Does Megiddo Plain stretch to Jerusalem?) - Rev 14:20 4. The depth of the blood described in Rev 14 is as high as the horses’ bridles for 180 miles (What does a 180 mile radius drawn with Jerusalem as the centerpoint look like? Does it include Megiddo Plain? Or if the centerpoint is not Jerusalem, and setting Jerusalem at the circumference of the circle, is Megiddo Plain less than 360 miles away?) 5. the Beast and the False Prophet get captured! Everyone else (the kings of the earth and their armies - Rev 19:11) dies. Makes me wonder if those two ran away (or hid in the fortress of Megiddo while everyone else was out fighing)! 6. Remember how every commentary on the Plains of Megiddo comments about how defensible the fortress there is? As if someone were to have a battle there, this is the place they would want to hold their position? It sure seems possible that the armies gathered there in a defensive position are the armies of the AC, doesnt it? Meaning Christ and the returning saints are attacking from the direction of Jerusalem and fighting their way towards Megiddo... Would love to find out if anyone can determine how many miles are between Jerusalem and Megiddo...

I was just thinking about American Pharaoh and how the horse won the Triple Crown. Might be a connection with this (and thereby the Revelation 12 sign crown)?
