Fascinating, watchmanjim! The cutter ties back, then, to our investigation of 1917/1918!

Yes--by itself, it wasn't a very noteworthy occurrence, but with the "coincidence" of it being found just about exactly 100 years after it was sunk-- pretty special. Then to have two other collisions about the same time. . . .
Last year we had the coincidence of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds both losing a plane on the same day, and in both cases it was Number 6 (out of 6).

At what point can we abandon the word "Coincidence"? It's all around us EVERYWHERE! Can we replace the word with "Common Sense"?

Gary you're going to have to do an article!

It may not be much, but the hull number for the USS Fitzgerald is DDG-62, and this number, 62, was also given out in regards to the number of people killed by the wildfires in Portugal recently.
It was ordered 2-22-90. Why is that number sticking with me?

One quick note on all these collisions in the sea... The term REPENT comes from a nautical term used to tell the crew to turn around immediately... I'm confident God is not steering ships on collision courses, but the lesson could not be clearer... Repent NOW! the world's inhabitants are on a collision course to destruction! REPENT!

Good point, Brad!
Also reminds me of that big bay in Alaska, Turnagain Arm.

Gary you're going to have to do an article! Yeah, I would agree. I'm thinking of a good angle. Maybe the idea the world is headed for a "shipwreck". So how many of these shipwrecks have there been lately? Does anyone know if this is out of the ordinary?

I found the four recently, like within a week or so of each other, I think. That coinciding with the 100-year-old wreck being found was quite the amazing round-up. Maybe there is a website about recent shipwrecks. . .
