We have studied some about the 4 horsemen of Revelation 6. We have not necessarily come to a consensus as to the precise meaning(s) of the passage. Regardless of when the 2nd seal was or will be opened, I find it interesting to track where there are wars on the earth at this time. Regarding the white horse, it occurred to me, what does "Trump" mean? Why it means to outrank, defeat, or win over something or somebody else. In other words, to conquer. That is food for thought, watchmanjim... I am also leaning toward your hunch about the rider of the white horse, and I am a little in a hesitant attitude about our president. While most of my family is very vocally cheering the victory of his election and celebrating all the work he's been doing, I seem to be the one who throws a little bit of a rainshower on their party. I am pleased, myself, with many of the changes he's been making, and yet my prophecy radar is up and running and seeing a good many things that make me hesitate to be so intense in my own opinions. Needless to say, when I've mentioned my questions about him to members of my family, I've sometimes been looked at with appalled expressions.

I think there might be dual fulfillment. God did say we aren't appointed to wrath, and these seals are definitely the wrath of the Lamb. However, before the Trib, there might be prototype seals. Just like there were many proto-Antrichrists, there might be echoes of the seals before the Trib. At least, I hope! I would not like to be on Earth during the Seal Judgements!

Great thoughts, Beloved--I will need to look into that more, about whether these seals count technically as God's Wrath. I had always associated the bowl (vial) judgments specifically as the Wrath judgments, but I need to look over it again.

Yes, it is God's Wrath. Who opens the Seals in Heaven? The Lamb of God, Jesus, as shown in Revelation 5:6, 6:1, 6:3, 6:5, 6:7, 6:9, 6:12, and 8:1. These judgements are of God; not men. God introduces the judgements, sustains the judgements, and stops them, just as with the Trumpet and Bowl Judgements. The Seals may be echoed before the Tribulation, but I have been lead to believe the main fullfillment is during the Tribulation.

I understand what you're saying--I am trying to make a distinction that I have always understood the bowl judgments to be particularly referred to in Scripture as the Wrath of God, and the prior judgments, may not be so. But let me go back and read it--I haven't had a chance yet.  |

We have pending wars in several countries now--rumors of wars, we might say. Our list of rumors now includes: North and South Korea Qatar Egypt (civil war looming) Add to nations already at war (or massive civil unrest) on their soil: Syria Iraq Venezuela Yemen Afghanistan Somalia Lybia Phillipines Mexico Nations participating in war: Russia United States United Kingdom Turkey Nations border skirmishing, not listed above: India Pakistan Israel Palestinians And others-- Take a look at the map. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ongoing_armed_conflictsIs it any wonder that we could see a red horse rising any day? |

So much to ponder with this... All speculation on my part, of course, but I've been contemplating whether the election of President Trump is connected with the White Horse for some time now. Then we have the possibility of the Red Horse rising through North Korea. I'm also wondering if the fiery Dragon of Revelation 12 is somehow going to be fulfilled in this... And I'm unable to shake away from my head the image of the dream I had about the nuclear explosion. I shared that in a different thread, but I'm not positive about which thread that was. Again I say I'm speculating, but I feel like I just want to pray that the Lord protects us all through whatever does come of this situation. Events are moving fast in these weeks...

The Greek doesn't carry that meaning. No, but Trump is not a Greek person. He is an American person, and the predominant language in the USA is English. God has pretty well shown Himself to use not only the original languages of the Bible (which are very important) but also every other means at His disposal, to make signs for us to see. I suspect that in every language spoken on earth, there are signs pointing to God that we just haven't realized. I find them in English all the time, since English is my native language. One example is the interesting same pronunciation of sun and son. And so we have verses that say things like the sun rejoicing as a bridegroom coming from His chamber, and we catch the reference to Christ, since we know about the bridegroom tie-in, and yet only in English, German, and perhaps a few other languages, do sun and son have any verbal connection. Not in Hebrew, Greek, Chinese, or French. But in those languages, there are probably other interesting allusions to learn. God is speaking through everything, in my opinion. However, His Holy Scripture in the original languages will always "trump" everything else. |
