Venge, he believes we will go through God’s wrath being poured out on the earth. He believes our Christian walk is a personal and private issue. Therefore his study of scripture and prayer is a private time for him. It is very rare for him to even pray with our children. He knows I’d prefer him to pray with our 8 yr if he is around, but he avoids doing that. My reason for stating that was because of his smirking when I prayed with her. So we quietly whispered our prayers last night. Children tend to view God through the lens of our relationship with our earthly father. So to ignore prayer with a child and spew a you’ll see you are wrong attitude doesn’t do anything helpful. This is why I am weary. Should tell him about Deut 6:7 Nothing private about it. How to you minister to others if its private? That very confusing and completely the opposite of what scripture says in the OT and NT. He believes we go thru God's wrath? or do you mean what you think is God's wrath? Most people who believe we go thru the tribulation do not believe that part is wrath.

absolutely brother! beaming with a resting smile. This is the attitude Paul so preached. Bond-servant type attitude. We are His, not the other way around..

From my experience with a irritated believer of the opposite sex: God has designed men a certain way and us women a certain way. Knowing only what you have typed here, perhaps there is a "contest" going on that he own what he believes verses what you believe. For some reason it looks like this is a battle of who "sees" something first. Our nurturing female/wife trait needs to be on full force. Full on Helper status. Helper meaning coming along side. I would kudos to what venge said, and even mike (not saying that others have not offered some good insight), but pray about what is breaking down this part of a cohesive spiritual head of household. When we look at things thru the flesh only, it will be foolishness. But when we operate of the spirit and our roles given by our Lord, the enemy can not get in the middle.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. It's pretty clear in scripture that God has not appointed us for wrath. So do as he commanded, encourage your children about this, build them up. And pray. Pray for your children, pray for your husband, pray for yourself. I will do the same. Thank you, thank you so much. Perhaps more than I need someone who understands is prayer.

God's wrath poured out upon the earth. That Christians will somehow be protected like the 144,000 sealed witnesses. I believe he also points to the martyred tribulation saints as the church who has been persecuted. In the past he said the first 3.5 years we would be here but now he has stated we will be here for the entire 7 yr. tribulation and we need to be prepared. How on earth does one prepare to live through the worst events of human history? I'd rather be taken out quickly at the beginning. It is something I can't dwell upon because it steals the peace and joy I have today. If indeed we will be here, then as Mike says "If the Lord desires to have me and my family go through Trib as a witness to Him, then it is His will not mine."

lookingabove, To re-cap, you said: Well, I suppose we get through it by faith, love and patient endurance - that's how we get thru it. I am not sure how it steals the peace and joy you have today. How do people living today that are not in America, lets say Iraqi Christians...who were slaughtered and persecuted and martyred by ISIS - did their belief stop at the fear of death at the hands of their enemies? What of Paul, Mark, Matthew, Jesus, Polycarp, Ignatius and thousands of others who were fed to animals, beheaded, lit on fire, hanged, crucified, dragged by chariots and had hot oil poured on them. Did it prevent their joy and peace they had? Did they waiver? Did they think once to save their life and take the easy out or to suffer for him? Tribulation shall not separate me from Christ. My joy and peace rest knowing I am saved by Him. As Biblehub points out on Romans 5:1-5, Faith brings Peace and Joy You see that? We glory in persecutions also and because of what it leads to- Because the love of God is shed in OUR HEARTS. So us going through it doesnt remove the love and joy we have my sister. It proves it to others that they may also glorify our Father in heaven and be born again. And then finally...I leave you with 2 Timothy 3:12 Do these verses change your mind about living for God? Nope. But they demonstrate all the people you read about in the bible died as martyrs except John. And the early church outside of the Bible in the writings of Polycarp and Eusebius also show Christians, our brothers and sisters over 100 years after Christ continually were slain, sought out, persecuted and much more. Why are we different in this time that we cannot be persecuted? Christians and Missionaries in other countries experience all this today including murder. As an American it saddens me that we have grown too comfortable and at ease here in this country while our brothers in Christ die elsewhere and its almost never mentioned from a pulpit UNLESS its a member of the church or a funded missionary. How often do we pray for those we don't know that are slain daily? Look at www.opendoorsusa.org a great sight and then there is the Voice of the Martyrs site at www.persecution.com/You dont lose love and joy sister, you gain it...and others gain it too thru your faith because of the mighty works you will do when things get tough. Man, God is good!

venge, When I asked how one prepares to live through the worst time in human history, I meant people who think they can prepare for their physical safety and needs(shelter, food, medicine). It seems unfathomable that one could do that in light of the worldwide disasters, except perhaps the ultra wealthy who have already built bunkers for themselves. Even then "They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!? Rev 6:16 I pray for our persecuted brothers & sisters in other nations even though I don't know them because what I read is horrific. I know more believers have been/are currently persecuted and murdered than in the past. I hope the Lord returns soon so their persecution will end. I think focusing on what can potentially happen tomorrow can rob us of today's joy. Jesus tells us (Matt. 6) not to worry about tomorrow. A steady stream of conversation about how bad it is going to get doesn't encourage me. I already KNOW we are not exempt from trials and tribulations in this earthly life. I'd much rather grow in my relationship with Christ than focus on the horrors of what may come in the future. If I'm humming praise songs as I go about my day I shouldn't be told that I am going to lose my faith because we don't agree on a timeline of when the Lord will return, that pre-trib believers will be fooled by the anti-Christ. Jesus said we are to be looking for his return. I'm not looking for the anti-Christ, I'm anticipating Jesus. It gives me far greater joy to meditate on the Lord than thinking about how to physically survive the 7 year tribulation. If we end up being here for the tribulation, I can't change that but I don't want to miss today's joy by dwelling on the horrors of the tribulation.
