Has anyone not seen The Chosen yet, and for whatever reason *can't* get a copy right now? I have a limited number of copies and would be really excited to give you one if you are *unable* to get one for some reason (just PM me).

I will admit that I am cautious about videos about Jesus. But...having watched the interview with the guy that plays Jesus and several clips and other interviews, I was impressed by their respect of the Word, how high they hold Jesus, and the care and humility they show. And the emotion that the actor shows in the scenes that I have seen - I can easily feel the compassion God has for us.
So, I watched the first episode this morning and cried when He was quoting Mary's verse to her. What a beautiful and compassionate scene.
I also watched the filming of the John 3:16 scene. I loved how they showed Nicodemus getting it.

Did anyone get a chance to watch S 2: Episode 1?? I thought it was really good, as usual. A couple of particularly moving scenes to me.

1:19:30 scene is powerful when they visualize how John may have come up with the words for John 1.

I loved the whole synagogue scene and ending.
I asked my daughter if she had heard the parable of the good Samaritan. She said yes, and understood what they did with that.
I think it's my favorite episode. Although I really liked the calling of Matthew one.

I've wanted to share The Chosen with my church family. Many don't have streaming ability with their internet or don't have internet and haven't been able to watch it. So I had the brilliant idea of ordering some DVDs for our church library.
Unfortunately, they didn't ship to Canada. I waited and checked back and still no Canadian shipping. Eventually, I got frustrated with waiting that I figured out a work around to get some DVDs using a cross-boarder shipping service. The problem with this was that I have to drive 2 hours to pick up the DVDs.
I eventually ordered in February and was waiting on an email for pick up. Finally, I checked with the shipping service and the DVDs have been waiting for me to pick up for a month. 🤦♀️. Apparently my email service blocked their automatic email to let me know it was available for pickup.
So I could have actually picked them up on my last city trip. 🤦♀️🤦♀️. I am still waiting to make my next city trip until we are done with my son being quarantined.
I checked out thechosengifts.com after watching the premiere. I could have avoided all the roundabout and potentially got the disks sooner if I had just waited. They now offer international shipping. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I guess I will just have to place a personal order in the near future and add a copy to our DVD cabinet as well now that there is finally shipping available to Canada. 😁
The season 2 opener was great! I love being able to share a biblical series with my children and husband. My husband isn't much into watching Christian movies but he has been enjoying The Chosen.

My middle kid (15 year old boy) has been listening through Genesis. We got to the point of Dinah and then of Judah and Tamar. So, we talked about how even though they were chosen by God, people are still people and can make a mess of things. So, now we have been able to add the disciples into the discussion. They didn't all just magically get along when they started following Jesus.
This kid also said, "It's such a great show."
The more I have thought about the ending of Episode three the more powerfully it has impacted me.

My daughter and I were rewatching S2 Ep 5. John and Jesus are sitting at the water talking and Jesus says something like "I am always ready to do My Father's will but that doesn't mean it's always easy." I hear my daughter (age 13) softly say, "Wise words." I love the truths in this show and also how they have brought the people of the Bible to life for my kids.
I've loved the discussions this show brings up.
Not necessarily The Chosen related, but the other day my son says something like, "If there was no sin, would there then be no one who dies?" So, we talked about it a bit. He said, "Jesus didn't sin, but He died." So, we talked about that, and he ended by saying, "His death was for a reason, it had a purpose." I love that he is thinking through some of this stuff.

Loved the season finale! We are working through the book of Matthew on Sundays and finished the Sermon on the Mount today. My daughter picked up some of the things that she had heard during service. We also talked about how it's recorded in Matthew and that The Chosen was portraying it a little differently. She said, "Well they have to make it work for TV."

Jesus quoting the Beatitudes with the flashbacks and then looking over at Matthew, "Blessed are you when others persecute and revile you..."
