whatif, mike, MissusMack08, nana, socalexile, james, chohouston, Not sure what is the best thread to post this, but I've heard and seen from several different sources, that for some reason, the Jewish/ prophetic calendar is "off" by one month this year, so that the real Rosh Hoshanah, and real Yom Kippur should be October 7 and 17th. ?? Can anyone please explain, and or post a link as to why or How people think this? Had anyone else heard this theory?? Blessings Disciple4life

I'm familiar with this. Apparently the argument actually goes back a long time. It all comes down to how we should reckon the first day of the biblical year. In Exodus God declares to the Israelites that the first day of the year will be in Abib. Abib is the first month of Spring. Abib became known as Nisan during and after the exile, so Abib = Nisan.
The way the current Jewish calendar reckons Nisan 1 is by identifying the new moon closest to the Spring Equinox. Sometimes the closest new moon is before the equinox and sometimes it is after. In other words, some years the first day of the first month of Spring is actually reckoned to be in the Winter (according to the Rabbinical calendar). This could be correct for a few different reasons, but it's unclear.
The alternative theory is that given Abib is the first month of Spring, it should always fall in the actual Spring season. That is to say that we shouldn't look for the new moon closest to the equinox, but rather the first new moon after the equinox. In this way Nisan/Abib 1 will always fall in the correct season.
Because the closest new moon to the equinox is sometimes after the equinox, there are many years in which the calendars align regardless of which theory you apply. 2017 was such a year, thus September 21-22 was Yom Teruah regardless of the calendar.
2021 is a year in which the calendars do not align. This means that the Rabbinical calendar will place Trumpets in September and the observed/Spring-based calendar will place Trumpets a month later in October.

Anti-Israel forces are moving closer as the US has given up a strategic base in Afgan. Sometimes events seem to move slowly, while other times they move rather quickly. Either way, the threat to Israel is increasing and the US looks to be declining. One wayward missile attack could be all that is needed to light a match in this region. Headline: IRAN HAS TAKEN OVER SYRIAN GOLAN AND IS NOW AT ISRAEL’S BORDER, TOP MIDDLE EAST EXPERT SAYS www.israel365news.com/196663/iran-has-taken-over-syrian-golan-and-is-now-at-israels-border-top-middle-east-expert-says/From link - Veteran journalist and Middle East analyst Ehud Yaari recently came out with the disturbing statement that just across the northern border, the Iranian military is becoming firmly entrenched in the Syrian Golan. ... Yaari notes that the situation has become even more complex as Israel cannot depend on US support under the Biden administration. The prospect of a dominant Iranian military presence in the Golan is, of course, unacceptable to Israel but with Russia firmly entrenched with the Khmeimim Air Base in Latakia, the IDF is limited in its ability to act against the Iranian presence. ... Yaari’s analysis was supported by a recent report published by a Turkish think tank that claimed that Iran has doubled its presence in southern Syria’s Golan Heights, while building military infrastructure in the region, specifically for a future conflict with Israel.

Wonder what time frame they have in mind to start acting on all these preparations? Headline: SANHEDRIN BEGINS TO PREPARE OIL TO ANOINT KING MESSIAH/KOHEN GADOL www.israel365news.com/201272/sanhedrin-begins-to-prepare-oil-to-anoint-king-messiah-kohen-gadol/From link - After an exhaustive study into the details surrounding the oil used to anoint the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) and kings of Israel, the Sanhedrin is moving forward to prepare enough to anoint the Messiah from the House of David who, when he returns, will rule over Israel in the Messianic era. ... Rabbi Weiss emphasized that a Kohen Gadol (High Priest) and Temple utensils will be anointed when the Temple service begins, which does not need an actual Temple structure, only an altar. ... “We are now entering the time when the preparations for the Temple are almost complete,” Rabbi Weiss said. “Now is the time for people to act, to show whether they will be part of the Temple or stand against the reappearance of God’s house in Jerusalem.”

Another step towards the 3rd Temple. Headline: FIRST TIME SINCE 2ND TEMPLE: RABBIS CONVENE TO IMPLEMENT BIBLICAL LAW ON TEMPLE MOUNT www.israel365news.com/201712/first-time-since-2nd-temple-rabbis-convene-to-implement-biblical-law-on-temple-mount-watch/From link - In a historic moment and under the protection of the Israeli police, the ‘Rabbis of the Temple Mount’ gathered for talks on Tuesday on the Temple Mount. The Rabbis of the Temple Mount will convene every month to discuss Torah law, its significance, and its implementation on the Temple Mount in our time. The assembly will discuss what Biblical commandments became applicable in recent years. This is a hot topic as an increase in Jewish visitation have made the pilgrimage onto the Mount along with the daily prayers that take place on the holy site. The discussions touched on the blessings to be recited on the Temple Mount. Participants included Head of the Temple Institute Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, The head of the Temple Mount Yeshiva Rabbi Eliyahu Webber, The head of the Temple Mount Colel Rabbi Elisha Wolfson, Rabbi Shmuel Moreno, Rabbi Yitzchak Brand, Rabbi Aryeh Lippo, and others. The main issue that dominated the talks was the question of which blessing should seal the prayer on the Temple Mount: “Blessed God our Lord from the now and forever” (ברוך ה’ אלקי ישראל מן העולם ועד העולם) and which blessings are to be answered with; “Bless God’s kingdom forever” (ברוך שם כבוד מלכותו לעולם ועד). Rabbi Eliyahu Webber, head of the Temple Mount Yeshiva said; “This is a significant celebration that Torah scholars are sitting on the Temple Mount itself and are comfortably discussing Jewish law on the Temple Mount. We were happy to open discussions with the Jewish law regarding the type of prayer that is recited every day during our morning and afternoon prayers on the Temple Mount.” Noting the current unprecedented nature of the current status of the Temple Mount and its relation to the Jewish people, the rabbi added: “After 2,000 years, we have merited to discuss Jewish law that has never been discussed by Torah academics in all of history.” The ‘Temple Mount Rabbis’ project was the initiative of Rabbi Roey Zaga who summarized the essence of the change in prayer on the Temple Mount saying: “In the Temple, we stand before God, and we feel that we do more than just believe in God when answering ‘Amen’, and therefore, we say in a loud voice: ‘Blessed the honorable God’s Kingdom forever” he explained. “Additionally, in the Temple, every day is like Yom Kippur, therefore the seal of the blessings to God aren’t just said in the present tense, but are recited in the hidden language: ‘Blessed God the Lord of Israel from now and forever’.”

whatif, mike, MissusMack08, nana, socalexile, james, chohouston, Air Force excercises are the most intense ever, and there is a great increase in civilian readiness excercises. The Israeli Defense Minister said yesterday, on the record, on live TV that Israel is preparing for war with Iran. Israel knows that Iran is very close to having enough enriched uranium to make a nuclear bomb, and they have been on record for years, saying publicly that they want to totally wipe Israel off the map. This all happening, while this week, Nelson Walters just released a report that the Pope met, or will soon meet with Fauxlestinian leader Abbas, with the goal of dividing Jerusalem, and creating a "Fauxlestinian Embassy" in Jerusalem. "All sides, are ready for a full-blown confrontation." The danger is that if Israel strikes Iran, Russia or Turkey will likely respond. Wow. Guys, it's sure getting hot up in here. Sure looks like all the pieces are falling in place for the Ezekiel 38 war. Israel is officially announcing that it is getting ready for war with Iran.
