Praise the Lord! God is good all the time and all the time God is good! 1 Samuel 30 teaching that shows a shadow of 7,000 years of human history! Come and dine if hungry!
1. David is a type of Jesus
2. 600 men = 6,000 years of human history. The 600 men were divided into 2 groups.
3. 400 men = 4,000 years of human history. (Israel)
4. 200 men = 2,000 years of human history. (Church)
5. The 200 men represent the church who stays behind from the battle (rapture)
6. Crossing the brook Besor is the Great tribulation.
7. The 400 men cross the Besor with King David because the great tribulation is all about Israel.
8. The 200 (the church) don’t cross the Besor and go because the Great tribulation isn’t about the church. The church is at rest in heaven.
9. The Egyptian who helps David represents the final remnant of gentiles who join themselves to JESUS during the tribulation.
10. David regathers all that was lost! Just as King Jesus will regather the whole house of Israel during the Great Tribulation. Nothing will be lost!
11. David (Jesus) returns to unite the church and Israel as one after the battle (Armageddon)!
12. The spoils of the kingdom are equally divided! Hint of the parable were the laborers complained for working all day. But the owner has the right to pay equal wages to all no matter how long they labored.
13. The 400 riders on the camels who escaped are a picture of those who will be part of the FINAL rebellion at the end of the 1,000 year reign when the hearts of those who aren’t fully committed to Christ are exposed by Satan’s last attempt to come against God.
Do you have verses for items 1 through 13?
David as a type of Jesus in item 1 is a great point. Thank you for mentioning this and it is easy to see when the Davidic Covenant is considered. That covenant allowed righteous kings of Israel to make a payment in pain and suffering for their people. In Hezekiah's case his sacrifice in pain and suffering protected Jerusalem from the Assyrians (Isa. 38:1-6).
"In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city."
Thus, Hezekiah, a Davidic King, saved his people from the Assyrians via pain and suffering for the Lords protection. This type (in Hezekiah) showed the avid scholar of the time, what the shadow (Lord Jesus), would do. He (Lord Jesus) would pay a price in pain and suffering to save his people from spiritual death via God the Fathers protection. Thus, a Davidic King is a type that saves his people via the Davidic Covenant, just as Lord Jesus is the shadow that saves his people via his eternal sacrifice.
Like I said, I like item 1.
Blessings Boraddict! I inserted the scriptures from the 1 Samuel 30 that speak to the bullet points 2-13. The YouTube video goes line upon line to paint the picture with supporting texts throughout the whole counsel of God to show the shadow. So if you have some time check out the teaching to grasp what God is saying in types and shadows. God bless you and here are the scriptures. Amen.
2. 600 men = 6,000 years of human history. The 600 men were divided into 2 groups.
“9So David set out, and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.” 1 Samuel 30:9
3. 400 men = 4,000 years of human history. (Israel)
“But David pursued, he and four hundred men.” 1 Samuel 30:10
4. 200 men = 2,000 years of human history. (Church)
“Two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.” 1 Samuel 30:10
5. The 200 men represent the church who stays behind from the battle (rapture)

6. Crossing the brook Besor is the Great tribulation.
“Two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.” 1 Samuel 30:10
7. The 400 men cross the Besor with King David because the great tribulation is all about Israel.
“But David pursued, he and four hundred men. Two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.” 1 Samuel 30:10
8. The 200 (the church) don’t cross the Besor and go because the Great tribulation isn’t about the church. The church is at rest in heaven.
“But David pursued, he and four hundred men. Two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.” 1 Samuel 30:10
9. The Egyptian who helps David represents the final remnant of gentiles who join themselves to JESUS during the tribulation.
“11They found an Egyptian in the open country and brought him to David. And they gave him bread and he ate. They gave him water to drink, 12and they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. And when he had eaten, his spirit revived, for he had not eaten bread or drunk water for three days and three nights. 13And David said to him, “To whom do you belong? And where are you from?” He said, “I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite, and my master left me behind because I fell sick three days ago. 14We had made a raid against the Negeb of the Cherethites and against that which belongs to Judah and against the Negeb of Caleb, and we burned Ziklag with fire.” 15And David said to him, “Will you take me down to this band?” And he said, “Swear to me by God that you will not kill me or deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this band.” 1 Samuel 30:11-15
10. David regathers all that was lost! Just as King Jesus will regather the whole house of Israel during the Great Tribulation. Nothing will be lost!
“16And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah. 17And David struck them down from twilight until the evening of the next day, and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who mounted camels and fled. 18David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and David rescued his two wives. 19Nothing was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that had been taken. David brought back all. 20David also captured all the flocks and herds, and the people drove the livestock before him,c and said, “This is David’s spoil.” 1 Samuel 30:16-20
11. David (Jesus) returns to unite the church and Israel as one after the battle (Armageddon)!
“21Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow David, and who had been left at the brook Besor. And they went out to meet David and to meet the people who were with him. And when David came near to the people he greeted them.” 1 Samuel 30:21
12. The spoils of the kingdom are equally divided! Hint of the parable were the laborers complained for working all day. But the owner has the right to pay equal wages to all no matter how long they labored.
“22Then all the wicked and worthless fellows among the men who had gone with David said, “Because they did not go with us, we will not give them any of the spoil that we have recovered, except that each man may lead away his wife and children, and depart.” 23But David said, “You shall not do so, my brothers, with what the LORD has given us. He has preserved us and given into our hand the band that came against us. 24Who would listen to you in this matter? For as his share is who goes down into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. They shall share alike.” 25And he made it a statute and a rule for Israel from that day forward to this day.” 1 Samuel 30:22-25
13. The 400 riders on the camels who escaped are a picture of those who will be part of the FINAL rebellion at the end of the 1,000 year reign when the hearts of those who aren’t fully committed to Christ are exposed by Satan’s last attempt to come against God.
“17And David struck them down from twilight until the evening of the next day, and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who mounted camels and fled.” 1 Samuel 30:17
