I do have one question, where do I discuss the contradictions of the Old and New Testament at? Is there a board for this? Excluding any extra biblical stuff that is. Hey there - I have said this in another post. I am perfectly fine with discussing extra biblical texts in light of the scripture. These can help add context of mindset of the people writing at the time, their cultural viewpoints and understanding of the times. These writings should not be used to establish doctrine, teach on the character of Christ, etc. LoG if you would like to discuss extra biblical writings, there is no problem with that. However stating they are the actual teachings of Christ and should be considered on equal footing as scripture is not something we are comfortable on this site. You dont feel the bible in and of itself it adequate as it stands. Start a thread to discuss that with whomever will discuss it with you. But weve asked and continue to hold that in other conversations you exclude these extra biblical citations and stick to the bible itself. If you are okay with that, then you are more than welcome to participate. If you are not okay with the rules of this forum, then you are free to explore avenues. EDIT - looks like you are doing this now as I am just seeing the other thread.

I cannot comment on this, as any proof or outside source used, would violate the doctrine that is in place. You dont feel the bible in and of itself it adequate as it stands. Thanks brother, I do discuss things with many other people online and off, it is the only way to be sure that your seeing the entire picture. Everyone has opinions, and each is valid to the individual that holds it. knowledge is useless without the wisdom that accompanies it. Gaining that, means looking outside your own sphere and holding your opinions up against others and find any missing data or possible error in forming said opinion. "Doctrine" as it is understood here is opposite that. It seeks to place restrictions on viewpoints that aren't already in agreement and discounts any that are such. In a literal sense, it impedes wisdom. my apologies, literal was the wrong word in the ending statement, I should have said "can be construed as"
