I always liked the idea of being a interdimensional zoo-keeper or having superman-style fighting or racing exhibition matches Joecool, I like your username. It makes me think of my favorite comic strip Peanuts, and my favorite character (other than Charlie Brown), Snoopy. Anyways, that’s an interesting thought of possibly being an “interdimensional zookeeper”. I’d like to think that, if NASCAR, or something similar to NASCAR, were to exist on the New Earth, that the racing schedule would ultimately be all exhibition races. Just think of the New Earth’s Daytona 500, NASCAR’s Super Bowl, being an exhibition race without anybody losing. All of the competitors would somehow be champions at the end of the season. Ultimately, that’s how I think sports will be on the New Earth, games will always be tied, and everybody will leave the competition a champion of the sport. Maybe all of the sports’ seasons will consist of exhibition matches between teams where everybody’s a winner. It’s kind of like my recreational sports league for people with special needs that I participate in, where the games’ final score is ultimately tied and everybody’s a champion and winner. I think that’s how sports will be organized on the New Earth, all exhibitions and all athletes champions and winners.

Thanks, Snoopy is also my favorite.
Imagine racing spaceships thru galaxies or running a foot race over water. Of course in the end All Glory and Honor go to God.

Along with everyone here, I can only speculate, but here is my two cents. The thrill of competition is out performing our competitors. Its the excitement of seeing the fruits of our labor in training and practicing. Its a matter of pleasure through pride. But we will all be perfected through rebirth. We will not be prideful in our actions. All glory will be to God, as it should be now, so whats the thrill? With racing and extreme sports, part of the thrill is the potential of disaster. We get the adrenaline rush from putting our lives in danger. Again, no death, so where is the thrill? Another thing is that competition is mostly the result of boredom. or need for entertainment in our leisure time because we tire of our work. I believe, as Mike said, we will be so wrapped up in doing His will, that "work" will not be tiring. Our pride will be gone, so "winning" will be a foreign concept. There will be no death to come near, so "extreme" will take on new meaning. I think there may be far more exciting activities to enjoy in the presence of our Almighty Father, but "competition" will be a thing forgotten with the curse of sin. The things that excite us now will will seem so trivial. I look at my 3 year old daughter, and she gets so excited about the little things. The bug that landed on her finger 3 weeks ago is still a topic of discussion for her. I think we will be as children again, finding joy again in things we now take for granted, while simultaneously experiencing new things beyond comprehension (though our comprehension will be greater then). Just my thoughts

Just my thoughts ksteven, Welcome to this discussion board forum! Happy to have you here. We must remember that Satan did not create competition and sports when the Fall of mankind happened. No, quite the contrary! God created sports and competition, I believe, to motivate us humans and make us better. Yes, there are some fallen parts to competition, like when we get upset when we lose or act like a sore loser, get upset at any penalty, and the like. But, that part of us, the fallen part, will be gone from Heaven and from any heavenly sports and competitions. We shall be happy when we lose and act like good sportsmen whenever we compete in any sport or competition on the New Earth. And yes, maybe in a way as a few people in this thread have suggested, there will be no losers and only winners. I think that it will be similar to my Buddy Ball sports league for special needs people that I discussed earlier, in that all of the games are always tied at the end, and everybody's a winner. Maybe that's what the scores and finishes will always be like in the sports and competitions of the New Earth, always tied and no losers ever again. Also, since we will always follow God's rules, we will not have any need for penalties, referees, and stuff like that. I look forward to when I compete in a heavenly NASCAR race, Heaven's NFL, or a league like that and never have to worry about the score or who's in the lead or who's behind me because we all will always win our sports games and competitions, and everybody will end up being champions of their respective sports. So, that's what I envision the heavenly sports and competitions to be like on the New Earth.
