Updates for Hurricane Maria. She's becoming a major hurricane quickly and may be another Irma. Anyone finding it interesting that we have Jose and now Maria, right before a potential rapture time? Joseph shows up, Mary shows up... Jesus shows up?
Back to Maria. There are a few possible meanings of the name. "Wished-for child," "Bitter," and "Lady of the Sea" seem to be the most common. I thought those were pretty significant.
We'll need to see how she affects Jose, too.

Dear Faithful Prayer Warriors,
This is a repeat performance. We may be wearing out your knee pads as you kneel in prayer for us. Again, we would appreciate your prayers for Puerto Rico and the other islands here as we have staring down our backs the eye, this time, of Maria. The latest news I have seen is that Maria will hit the island sometime tomorrow (Tuesday) evening with sustained winds of 150 mph and will cover the whole island. NBC has reported that Maria could be the worst hurricane since 1928. There will be no classes tomorrow so as to “batten down the hatches” again here at Puerto Rico Baptist College. We know that God can redirect this storm also. Our hope and confidence is in Him.
We are asking the Lord to supply the finances to be able to get at least two generators for the school. With the storms and upcoming brown-outs for power plant repairs on poorly maintained for years, we are expecting to need them for some time to come. Please pray with us.

Here's an interesting bit of information about Maria...

In a period of less than 14 hours, Hurricane Maria strengthened from a category 1 hurricane into a category 5 hurricane.
Timeline in US Eastern Time:
Sept. 18, 5 AM - Maria is at category 1.
Sept. 18, 8 AM - Maria is at category 2 and had been there since before 7 AM.
Sept. 18, 11 AM - Maria is at category 3.
Sept. 18, 2 PM - Maria continues to strengthen at category 3.
Sept. 18, 5 PM - Maria is at category 4.
Sept. 18, 6:45 PM - Maria is at category 5.
Note: The timeline referenced used mostly 3-hour intervals, so the time the hurricane first reached certain category numbers may fall in between these measurements.

Me and you subscribe to the same youtube channels MissusMack!  And yeah, I agree with you and hope that the flood levels shown in that video are wrong. Because if they are right many communities near some of these rivers are gone. I mean all the way gone, underwater, and even 3-4 story buildings completely submerged. Watching the video is especially concerning, and I thank so much guys like MrMBB because if not for them we'd have absolutely no clue as to what is going on due to the fact that MSM can not be trusted farther than one can throw them. That, and the fact they only report on what they feel like reporting on. Ugh! I won't miss the fake news, that is for sure (not talking about only the liberal networks either; and truly I believe all that matters to all of them is $$$; and all with the $$$ are in cahoots whether it be an R or a D or an I or whatever else by their name; rest of people don't count or matter according to "the world"). I suspect censorship in the days/months/years to come. People will only know what the big "they" want them to know. In the meantime, praise Jesus for people like MrMBB! Pray hard for Puerto Rico everyone! Not only them, but all the islands out there. Because if those graphs are right, there is so much completely under water as I type this, and to the point where I don't think people would find any solid ground anywhere. I was reading His Word last night, and it talks about the earth and heavens shaking, nations being moved from out of their places, and islands fleeing away (which I would imagine would mean under water and no more island). According to trust worthy news sources (which sadly enough can only be found on youtube), just that power is completely gone with all major infrastructure gone, modern term would be "off the grid" and not by their choice. We have no way of knowing how they are doing because there is no power and no way to get there or off Puerto Rico (as of now anyway). In addition, it is said it could take 4-6 months minimum just to restore electricity! A video I watched went into detail about what that would mean for Puerto Rico, or for any nation suddenly taken off grid like that, and it is not pretty at all. And so, I'm definitely praying hard for them this morning! Keep them safe Lord, and protect those who are Yours. Edit: About MrMM belonging to Jesus, I wonder the same myself! Something tells me he is. I think that in his case though, he is trying to reach the lost through current events. Because once one looks into all of it, don't even have to say the name Jesus because it so obviously points to The Bible and Jesus being the ONLY way out of this mess. Unfortunately, in this world, there are many who once they hear the word "Jesus", they immediately shut down, immediately HATE the person whomever it is or no matter how knowledgeable they are. And so I think MrMBB is reaching a broad base of people... including many who would not listen to him if he were to say the word "Jesus". I hope his tactics work and they are saved! |

It's almost unreal to see multiple reports, from different sources, saying Puerto Rico is completely without power. That's saddening enough on its own. But in some of the youtube live streams there's a live chat and people are posting some of the most vile things. The love of many has definitely grown cold.
It will only be worse during the great tribulation (where people will already be under a strong delusion). So I can see how catastrophes of literal biblical proportions will happen continually, but many of those not directly affected will have no concern about it at all. A lot of it is already happening.

Where I live, fall is starting, the air is cooling, he skies are bright blue and clear. It's hard to imagine that horror is coming but at the same time it's hard to empathize with the suffering the IS occurring. But I can see for people who do,not know Jesus at all, that all they can spare to care about is themselves and their own families because there's just too much suffering everywhere. |

I think it's attitude of the heart that's the main issue. There's a big difference, to me, in not researching out every tragedy going on around the world (I myself avoid most of the news for just this reason) to protect your own spirit and well-being, and an attitude of hearing or seeing a tragedy taking place and making jokes about it or spewing profanity toward those it's affecting and making a mockery of what's going on. I don't think you'd do the latter. Edit: So to be clear, when I say people's love is growing cold and they don't have care or concern unless it directly affects them, I mean when a person hears about something happening and has no empathy/concern for the people it does affect. Because I think it will be impossible to live during the great tribulation (at least in modern societies) and not hear about the tragedies going on. |
