nightsky, we are to travel the 21st to Canby, and I see near the Dalles is on fire.. It is so frustrating right now to not see the sky at all, with full moon, but smoke totally crowding out the stars...Live in the Big Sky state, so we usually have good night skies...must use stellarium to see whats going on...

The article says:
"The fire has closed a 30-mile stretch of nearby Interstate 84 and forced the evacuation of hundreds of homes on the far eastern fringes of Portland's metropolitan area. Authorities say the fire was started by a 15-year-old boy who tossed fireworks into the woods."
I can't help but think this is ironic considering the North Korean situation.

I've been considering the smoke in the sky and how badly it's affecting the visibility across the US. I'm in New Mexico and I think we only have one small fire currently (because we're actually not in drought!), where your supposed to get sweeping azure skies and deep black nights full of twinkles, but I don't think I've seen any of that in several weeks. The skies are sort of blue during the day straight up above but hazy all around and at night the stars are just smudges if you can see them at all. Amd we're waking up every morning with matted, red, watery eyes. And this is just from smoke from the west coast fires. I feel for you all living nearby and being so much more affected by the smoke! But there's also been a lot of cloud cover from storms etc in the east.
But it makes me wonder, since American Christians are probably the majority of people watching the skies, if Satan is trying to keep us from seeing something?
