So I was doing my reading today and I read these verses and I couldn't help but chuckle. I mean can you imagine seeing Jesus make a whip and chased people out while turning tables over, I know the disciples were scared, but cmon this is awesome.
John 2:13-18 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

I imagine it was quite a sight and a bit shocking. A bit different from the picture of Jesus meek and mild filled with love and acceptance. I also like when after telling the parable of the master who had a vineyard (Matt 21:33-44) and the chief priests and Pharisees "perceived that He was speaking about them" (vs 45) I always imagine them huffing and puffing around "Can you believe the nerve of that guy? Who does He think He is talking to us like that?" If they were cartoon characters they would probably have smoke coming out of their ears.

Yes,
Lots of preachers want us to view Jesus as someone other than God... Loving and condoning everything - even evil. Wrong...... I so agree delo63! He is so kind to show himself to us!!! I can't wait either!!!!
