Wow, just a day after the largest Typhoon in 25 years. They seem to catch it quite a bit, quakes, typhoons, tsunamis, one of the worst nuclear accidents in history, as well as being the only country to ever be hit with nuclear weapons.

Does it make ya wonder why Yes Mike, I've wondered if it's just they're location in the Ring of Fire, or if it's something else like God's judgement. I was in the military for 24 years and have been there a couple of times. It's a beautiful country with a lot of wonderful people, but they have a long history of pagan worship. I'd love to hear your opinion on it.

My opinion has changed over the years. I once thought it was most definitely judgement on non believers. However that opinion was mostly due to my immaturity and incorrect doctrinal instruction. I realized "there's believers in (insert location) there too". Surely God wouldn't punish the just with the unjust would He?
Then I was shown Luke 13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Theres a lot in the above passage and it's not the intent to debate "repent" here. But quickly I'd say "why do they need to repent?" Possible they were someplace they shouldn't have been and should change their minds about the things they did. At the very least change their minds about who God is. But again that's not really for this thread
My takeaway was to be ready for the day I meet the Lord face to face, saved or not. If I wasn't saved Jesus is saying things that apply to an unbeliever because accidents could happen to anyone at any time. The sun shines and the rain falls on all of us. My attitude now is I will be judged for the things I do and don't do. Not for salvation of course...I think I'm rambling now
