Ok, it's midnight here in Texas. I occasionally over the past five years at this house, have sat and viewed the stars, I find/found it peaceful. I have noticed of late and specifically tonight, the "appearance" of some "stars", that have never previously been there. But whats more curious to me is the nature of these "stars". In childhood science class I had a real science geek teacher, whom helped us kids pick out stars and tell what wasn't by watching the "light" of the star. Some have a weak light, some stronger, some have slight seeming color spectrum differences, but the ones that seem to "blink" or sputter are almost always a satellite, helicopter, airplane or other man made thing. Coincidentally, these new stars, are apparently at noticeably different distances and all have the same flash/blinking pattern. Now I have no clue what these new stars are or if it a common occurrence I have somehow always missed. But in this time, I look to the skies alot and when things look out of place or suddenly appear, I notice. I wished I had a way to take a picture that would show up and try to map the actual stars to compare.
As an addiional note: my neighbor approached me last week, he's a sincere follower of Christ and waits for the return as well. He asked me if I'd seen the ufo's the night before? As he described them, I knew of what he was talking about, as I'd seen an identical type thing in Amarillo Tx. when I was 16ish! # lights formed in a triangle, that moved faster than is possible to the known public. Like cross the entire view from horizon to horizon in 1 second or so. They made an impossible immediate halt mid air and hovered still some time, then vanished out of the horizon.

Have you heard of Stellarium? It's a star program you can fine online. Even has a setting so you can use it outside at night. My kids love to use it to locate stars and constellations. You might check it out and see if it is useful to you.

Since there are now numerous space agencies and corporations, the number of satellites are steadily increasing. If the lights you see are new but stationary and do not yet show up on star apps such as Stellarium or Skeye or StarTracker, it's a good bet that they are new satellites in a geosynchronous orbit. And the fact that you live in Texas, being closer to the equator than most of the US, you are going to see these more clearly and higher up in the southern sky. Here is a good explanation on the twinkle of stars. I think it can be applied to satellites as well to a certain degree. Some satellites blink steadily because they are revolving. Also, if you are seeing them at midnight in Texas, they must be at a far distance from the earth to still be in sunlight(obviously you wouldn't see them when they are in Earth's shadow) earthsky.org/space/why-dont-planets-twinkle-as-stars-do

I'm afraid that astronomy has only become an area of interest to me in the past few months, so i'm I'll equipped to make any discernment from what I see.

LOL I had thought sattellites, but I have seen those before and they move perceptibly, meaning they look closer to a high altitude plane than a star. These three remained completely stationary like a star, but had very brilliant light that seemed to flicker a bit. I'll look into your resources and maybe I'll find an answer that makes sense. The "appearance" and disappearance of lights seemingly below the "star layer", or at least closer than all the other stars appear to be is the curious part. One would think if it is a thing in orbit, it would not remain stationary, but I'm no astronomer so I just see it as an oddity. Thanks for the info.

lionofgod ,"One would think if it is a thing in orbit, it would not remain stationary" That's the thing about geosynchronous satellites, they do appear to remain stationary because they orbit west to east at a relative speed to the turning of the earth so that they remain stationary over one point on the Earth. As the name implies, NOAA's weather satellites, GOES, Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, are geosynchronous as well as many television satellites. I'm not saying what you are seeing is geo-sats, just explaining how they work. Along these same lines, I'm thinking it is a good idea to keep an eye on what's going on in the satellite dept., because we know that the second beast in Rev. 13, "...performed great signs to cause even fire from heaven to come down to earth in the presence of the people." Considering what I posted earlier, the second beast, whoever it may be, is constrained to this world and has it's resources to use. This would be an opportunity to use (to the delight of conspiracy theorists everywhere, I might add) a satellite to beam a laser(fire) to earth in the presence of everyone. There are some that say that is what caused the twin towers to actually crumble and fall and started a lot of the California, Colorado, and Canadian fires. Not sure if I believe that, but I'm not going to discount it just yet.

The "artificial lightning" has certain aspects that identify it from natural occurring, they call it chain lightning. But since "lightning" is supposed to be the cause of most all the forest fires that are not arson, it stands to reason, that it could be artificial in nature. I can neither prove or disprove it, but just the knowledge that it is an existing tech, makes me question.

lionofgod , Natalie , stormyknight , WOW! That was AWESOME! I have no idea "what" it means, but there is some serious activity here. I heard a thunder and a mild shake, then the power everywhere goes off, The entire sky goes black, then the whole horizon and above me lights up a brilliant blue! Like a light colored sapphire. It holds bright a couple seconds, then blinks out. Simultaneously the lights blink on, then for a few minutes, they sky glows blue then blinks and stops, then it does it all over again. This goes on for a total of 5 to 10 minutes! Windy, first, then cloudy then no noise, just amazing light show! I've seen all sorts of explosions and electrical storms and even volcanoes and hurricanes and tornadoes. NEVER have I seen a light that could make the night look like day. I looked on my phone and the locals are claiming a power pole blew. I'm only 2 football fields away from that pole with a view directly aside, but not to it. IMPOSSIBLE! What ever that was, it was the most powerful light I've ever seen. Besides which, electricity arcs, white with blueish haze, this lit the entire skyline in a even shade of light jewel blue! no "bright" spots, etc. Add to that the appearing stars I've seen, the UFO's my neighbor witnessed last week, and somethings going on here. Ok, after searching the web, this is exactly what my sky did, but it was green then blue. They say con-ed, power transformer did this. LMAO! People will believe anything! I have witnessed at least 5 different transformer explosions myself, and this is not anything near what that looks like. The transformer may have blown as a result of what ever caused the light, but the simple fact is, for an arc of electrical power big enough to light up New York, or here in Galveston area, that large, it would be like 20 bolts of lightning at once, but the light is a glow, not a bright flashing, plus the quality of light appears whitish at a transformer explosion, with a blue hue, not blue with a blue glow, or alternating green and blue. Media is covering up something. After investigating, there are reports of ufo's before the "light" incidents both here and in the New York one. Coincidence?
