My father in law has been on dialysis and got a call in the night that they have a kidney for him. He has been so low lately that this is a true blessing. I ask that you would pray that it's not rejected and that he has a smooth and quick recovery.

Thank you, guys!
He came through surgery fine.
We would probably know more if he was allowed visitors.

Update: My husband talked to the doctor today. They are releasing his dad this afternoon. He is still needing dialysis, but the doctor is confident that by the end of next week the kidney will be doing its job. It's really amazing that he even got the kidney because he was not next on the list. The kidneys were supposed to go to the Chicago area but because of the virus they decided to keep them local.
I'd ask that you would continue to pray that the kidney would start working on its own and for FIL's attitude. He's a very pessimistic person. He's also really irritated that my husband and others went over and cleaned his house. I've not been in his house, but he's a bit of a hoarder and not real great at house keeping. My husband asked the doctor to explain to FIL that it was necessary for his health. We'd also really like to encourage him to hire a cleaning lady, but I don't think that will go over well.

So, a bit unexpected, but FIL actually seemed to like what they did in his house.

So, FIL had to go back in the hospital. It seems that the kidney is doing it's job but his bladder hasn't fully woken up yet. Because of his immune system, they want to be able to send him home where there are less germs. Plus he'll be able to get better rest at home.

Forgot to update -- FIL got home Monday but has a catheter. He will go back to the hospital/doctor on Thursday to hopefully get that removed and be on his way to full recovery. Praise is that the kidney seems to be working. They did blood work on Saturday and the numbers were as if he had had dialysis (but he hadn't). They aren't down to a healthy person level, but they are going down.
