Mark, chapter 3, King James Version:
"22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end."
This has been on my mind recently, as I see something on the warfare side that has me intensely curious.
Through various circumstances, I have come across the following bits of information:
1. Apparently a lot of Christians believe that "Near Death Experiences" are cases in which people, while dead as far as humans can measure, are not dead, and somehow are being given a hallucinogenic experience that is guided by demons.
2. Apparently a number of non-Christians who have had these experiences claim to have met Jesus, and come back and focus their lives on spreading the gospel.
I know this isn't *everyone*. What caught my attention originally was a woman who had died and claimed to have the usual experiences (tunnel and light, love, forgiveness, life replay, etc.), but I noticed that her entire story was absolutely bereft of any mention of Grace, the need for salvation, and Jesus Christ himself.
So I started to ponder the reality of these things.
There is no doubt that people who have NDE's do obtain information during their time of being "dead" that they would not otherwise have, however it *is* possible, I suppose, that demonic interaction could give them such information to fool them into believing they really had such an experience.
But why would the devil and his force engage in such charades when most often the result is people believing, at the very least, that God exists and that there is life after death?
How would the devils minions, being here on earth, be capable of manipulating a persons mind such that they feel *they* (the dead person) is the one seeing their body from above, or the earth from above (are the demons not bound to the earth and the air?).
Alternatively, if we are to say that such things are *not* demonic warfare, then what *are* they? While there are similarities, why are there some differences in what people describe seeing?
Why would God bring people into any form of heaven if they are not Christians?
Are the NDE's something that God does to give a boost to evangelism?
I'm not unwilling to say such things are imagined, just as I am not unwilling to say they are real. Right now, however, I see some logic issues.
Anyone care to share experience or point out scripture that supports or condemns the reality of NDE's?
Note: Posted in "spiritual warfare" because at worst, NDE's are a spiritual warfare issue.
