Florence - means “to blossom”, “to flower”, or “to bud”
There is a hurricane named Florence headed in the very specific direction of Florence, SC.
32 From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Matthew 24:32-35

Not big on conjecture, but there are two other named storms in the Atlantic:
Isaac - means laughter, but he was the “Son of promise”. Genesis 17:19 God said, “No, Sarah your wife will have a son, and you will name him Isaac.[c] I will make my agreement with him to be an agreement that continues forever with all his descendants.” Could YWHW be fulfilling his promise for all generations in the near future?
Then, there’s Helene, a derivation of the Greek name Helen. Helen was a central figure in the Trojan war in which the men of Troy brought a horse into their city which was unknowingly filled with soldiers from the enemy. When the time was right, the enemy unleashed their fury and destroyed the city. Could this be indicative of the Jews welcoming the enemy in under disguise?

Some things I think need to be considered with this.
"summer is near". It's almost Autumn.
The fig tree was first introduced in the Garden at the Fall, and are representative of man attempting to be righteous, or cover his own sin, by his own work. It's also used extensively as a representative of the Jews.

Fig tree a reminder of the fall of man? 144 a reminder of Revelation 7 ? 7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” 4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

I find it very interesting the name of the man who planted the fig trees: Elijah Hook Workman. Wow! Some things I think need to be considered with this. "summer is near". It's almost Autumn. inaweofhim, That is a wow! I didn't catch that. My thoughts about this story are racing! I find the symbolism in this story exciting. Many believe America is the new Israel. Is God once again showing us the how Israel has or will fall? Is He again showing us the the moral and cultural decline of man? What part of a "new Israel" could be more decadent than Los Angeles, CA. My apologies to those in California, I know there are some very good Christians there. Los Angeles = The Angels (another reference to Revelation 7?). So a fig tree, representative of Israel falls in the biggest city of the biggest state of the greatest country in the history of the world. And it fell after 144 years (representing the 144,000 sealed from the tribes of Israel?) God again showing us He is in charge. He is Omnipotent! Neither man nor land has power over God! Seal yourselves in the faith of our Lord Jesus before it's too late. But then he also gives man hope. Hope for those in the Great Tribulation. Revelation 7 continues.. 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” 13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” 14 I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 “For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. 16 “They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” These signs are not coincidence. And I find these signs comforting. There is probably much more symbolism here, but just my thoughts.
