No guilt in life, no fear in death— This is the pow’r of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home— Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.”
“In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song; This cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My comforter, my all in all— Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, Who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save. Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied; For ev’ry sin on Him was laid— Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain; Then bursting forth in glorious day, Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me; For I am His and He is mine— Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death— This is the pow’r of Christ in me; From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home— Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.”
Powerful story! I love this song too. I have a horrible memory for memorization but I can sing quite a bit of this song in my head when I need it.
Wasn't it though. It made me glad i scrolled down to the bottom to the read the soldier's story.
"No matter how many times I hear that verse, I get chills up my spine. The picture of Christ standing in victory, the image of sin’s grip being broken and the promise that I am his and knowing that he in fact is mine brings him incredibly close to me.
"As I drive down the highway with my M-16 pointed out the window and my 9MM pistol tucked in my flak jacket pocket. I can tell you that I feel more secure in claiming the promise “No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from his hand till he returns or calls me home” than I do with that rifle and pistol.””
EnochWalked: ceufast.com/blog/the-deadliest-pandemics-in-history Interesting sense of perspective. Covid-19 is currently the 13th deadliest pandemic in human history. The 12th deadliest (an 8th century Japanese smallpox epidemic) was about twice as deadly.

EnochWalked: sog: That does make some sense, thank you. Presumably they were relying on those potential Democrat voters to react in defiance, as in "I'm not going to give in to those threats!". Iran must see them as brave (or at least spite-driven) and manipulable.

EnochWalked: It's sad that the UN needed to be told that they can't redefine "health care" to mean "killing babies", but it's really great that the Trump administration seems to have taken the lead here. Unfortunately it doesn't directly change national policies.
