Good morning to all my brothers and sisters in Christ! I was thinking today about all the joy we will have in at last seeing our Lord Jesus face to face--getting to talk with Him and ask Him a thousand questions and singing songs in His honor. What a wonderful time that will be!
We will also be reunited with our family members and friends who are with the Lord at the time of the resurrection--and I personally believe we'll also be reunited with our beloved pets that we've lost to the tragedies of this fallen, decaying world. I can hardly wait for that happy reunion, and there are so many other people I am looking forward to meeting, as well--heroes of the faith from the Bible, from history, even heroes of the faith from modern times who've greatly inspired and encouraged me but who I'm pretty sure I will not get an opportunity to meet until we all get to heaven.
For example, I want so much to see my grandfather and grandmother again, and my great-grandfather and great-grandmother again. My great-grandfather was quite the character. He once frightened my grandfather and my father when he got up on the roof while they were working on a roofing project and acted as if he were about to leap off, saying, "I feel so close to God, I think I could fly!"
I want to hold my big, furry baby, Charcoal, again and hear him purr. He was a beautiful, good cat buddy, and I can't imagine how beautiful he'll be in perfection.
I want to meet the prophet Daniel and Queen Esther and Joseph and the apostle John. I want to meet my heroes of the faith from history, Corrie Ten Boom and her family and Adrienne de La Fayette and her family (and please, Lord Jesus, may her husband be there, as well--how I would love to meet him).
May I ask who you are longing to meet or be reunited with in that glorious resurrection time?
