I wrote the following in response to some of my fellow Watchmen who are using other books...

God’s Word is Settled
It disturbs me that many Christians believe that God can’t and hasn’t protected His Word: that there are lost books of the Bible.
It’s all nonsense!
Ecclesiastes 3: MKJV
14 I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it…
Psalms 119: MKJV
89 … Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness is to all generations; You have founded the earth, and it remains.
91 They stand to this day according to Your ordinances; for all are Your servants.
God has placed great authority in His word:
Psalms 138: MKJV
2 …for You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
So we can see that the Word of God is not affected by sin or man. Although man may make counterfeits.
If God cannot protect His Word then we cannot ever be certain we have Him or even access to Him, it would then require us to rely on others. And God hates that! This goes hand in hand with Rev 2:6,15 which I will discuss more in a bit. But is directly related to Gnosticism.
Gnosticism states one must have special knowledge to understand scripture. There are different forms of this today. One common one, especially amongst denominationalism is education. Many state that the common man cannot understand scripture unless he goes to college.
We should remember this:
Acts 4:13 But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlearned and uneducated men, they marveled. And they recognized them, that they had been with Jesus.
But my point here is, how does one determine which books are inspired or not? They will have to rely on someone special to give them that information or to have to be educated. This is Gnosticism. And also lacks faith in God! Has He not spoken His Word is secure?
Gnosticism leads to the sin of the Nicolaitans.
Rev 2:6 But you have this, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
15 So you also have those who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Repent! But if not I will come to you quickly, and will fight with them by the sword of My mouth.
The word “laity” is found in the Greek word Nicolaitans. I suggest this page from an elder brother of mine in the Lord, which speaks more of this:
THE DOCTRINE OF THE NICOLAITANES
The best part of his article is this:
“Nicolaitanes” means “Victorious over the people; a follower of Nicolaus, a heretic”. It comes from the familiar word “nike”, which is popular in our day. The meaning can be better seen in the phrase: “to conquer the laity” (from “nikos – to conquer”; and “laos” – where our word “laity” comes from). Laity means “the people, or the public”.
Many churches are separated into 2 groups of people: ministers (or priests) and laity (regular people). And this is what God hates.
So why should those who are not educated or have the know how, have to rely on certain people to tell them what books are inspired or not? They don’t, God has protected His word and its available even to the simplest among us.
Don’t fall for Gnosticism, no matter how it is packaged, trust in God and have faith in your bible!
