Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ! I saw some posts about this topic in the Shoutbox--from EnochWalked, if I recall correctly--but haven't noticed anything posted here in the threads, so I'd like to get your thoughts on how this news might relate to Bible prophecy.
According to a very fascinating Wikipedia article, "Neom (styled NEOM) is a planned 10,230-square-mile (26,500 sq km) transnational city and economic zone to be constructed in the border region of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt (via a proposed bridge across the Gulf of Aqaba)."

What does the name mean? According to the following article: "We had a lot of names that we were supposed to adopt, they were all good names but we did not want a name based on the Arabic language, or a name based in the Latin language or any other language. We wanted something that represents humanity in general. There were many suggestions. We took the initials of the main nine sectors and some of the key landmarks in this zone and we put this into the word neo-mustaqbil. Mustaqbil means future. Neo-mustaqbil is too long so we made it NEOM. It sounds like a futuristic name at the same time so there is a meaning behind it.”

I wonder if this has anything to do with the petrodollar (maybe demise of it) and find it interesting that the military industrial complex is first in line... Is this the globalist setting this up.
Another thing, it was reported a long time ago that Israel had oil and a lot of it located by the south part of the dead sea. It was said that many the vast oil fields were connected in the middle east and the one in Israel was the deepest of all. Think of a built in pool with Israel being the deep end. When you drain it the shallow end drains first (Saudi) and the oil flows to the lowest point always (Israel) the deep end.

It's also interesting that they mention robots will be in service positions within the city.
I'm wondering if this could possibly tie in with Mystery Babylon... Are we possibly seeing the "great city" being planned out?

Are we possibly seeing the "great city" being planned out? I'm wondering this, too, whatif, ever since I first read Gary's article mentioning the Crown Prince. I posted an article about NEOM over on the anti-christ thread that I thought was really interesting because it mentioned Saudi Arabia will probably recognize Israel and sign a peace treaty to kick start this whole thing. This all sounds a little bit ominous to me. The Crown Prince is now on my radar. |

Well to be honest there have been many anti-Christ types since the beginning of the Church that there are many in the world today that are influenced by the spirit of the anti-Christ as John says the spirit of the anti-Christ is already at work in 1 John 4:3. However it is intriguing how the Saudi Princes are looking to have closer ties while protesting the actions by Iran and friends who want to destroy Israel (Ezekiel 38 anyone?). I'm waiting to see what's going to go down on Oct. 31, if anything happens.

Neom means "New Future". As to Ez. 38 and 39, it is important to realize that this takes place early in the Millennium. After Israel is restored in their land, including those who had been sifted through the nations, we see the Gog nations primarily, perhaps some of the reorganized troops of the army of 200 million that did not make it to the battlefront against Christ, gathering together to spoil this prosperous, unprotected region. How God responds has a great impact on the remaining nations that do not yet know Him. There are some indications in scriptures that it may take up to 7 years to fully subdue the nations. NEOM will be an important factor in the development of the King of the South, inasmuch as it helps to enrich Egypt and help them to find their way in leading the Arab peoples. The time of end-time House of Israel's fall and the rise of the Time of the Gentiles is upon us.
